I watched all the Tour of Duty episodes back in the late 80s, and I've been watching reruns of them over the last few weeks. Best TV series of all time. And Marvin Johnson was/is my favorite character. But that's not the reason for my email. Here's the reason: Someone needs to make a full movie about the life of NBA legend/jazz star/preacher's kid Wayman Tisdale. You'd be the perfect person to do so. Look at the documentary: http://www.amazon.com/The-Wayman-Tisdale-Story-DVD/dp/B005M5OSCO B

Dear Mr. Foster, I recently saw the movie ,"Preacher's Kid" for the umpteenth time and enjoyed it thoroughly. I went on line to find out more about this movie. I was so surprised to see that the director and writer was from Youngstown! I never knew that. It is an honor to have such talent come from my hometown. I would like to ask you this question: Does one need to get their work copywrited first before trying to sell it to a book publisher? I have written some children's plays that I want to sell to a book company. How do I start? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

Woman Thou Art Loosed

Mr. Foster- I am a Speech coach and high school play director/Theatre teacher from a high school in the Chicago suburbs. My students and I are a fan of your work, especially "Woman, Thou Art Loosed." Two of my young ladies would like to perform a portion of the script at Speech competitions. First, I appreciate any input or suggestions that you may have regarding this. Second, according to the rules of our competition, any script performed must come from a published source with an ISBN number. Technically, movies don't count unless you can track down a published screenplay. I was hoping you could give me advice on how to find an official version of the screenplay. Alternatively, I read on your site that there is an original stage production. Was that script ever published? Could you point me in the direction of finding that? Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time. Matthew Morales

Thanks for leaving your comments here.  The only way that I can "get it right" is to get your feedback and give you what you want.  This is an open forum. If you like my work, let me know and I'll come here when I need a lift.  If you don't approve of something, let me know that too.  My goal is to get better and better. You might be surprised by how many others share your thoughts. Either way, your words are like medicine.  Keep them coming.
