Tour of Duty was a television drama series on CBS that featured a talented ensemble cast. The show follows an American infantry platoon on a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. It was the first television series to regularly show Americans in combat in Vietnam and was one of several similarly-themed series to be produced in the wake of the acclaimed Oliver Stone film, Platoon. The show was created by Steve Duncan and L. Travis Clark, and produced by Zev Braun. It ran for three seasons as 58 one hour episodes.  Numerous talents emerged from to show to have broader success including Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, Kim Delaney, Kelly Hu, and Tia Carrera.

Tour of Duty was my first real break in Hollywood. It took me six auditions and right before I was about to audition for the studio I remember being really nervous.  But then the Executive Producer (Zev Braun) tells me "I just make a big speech about you telling them that you're my #1 choice for the role". I couldn't believe it.  The guy had never said a word to me at any of the prior auditions. But after that intro, I knew that I would nail the audition.
